NSWIS Testing Camp
Published Wed 27 Jul 2016
A fantastic time was had by all that attended the NSWIS Testing Camp held at SOPAC in the last week of the school holidays. Approximately forty participants attended each session of the week long camp. In total there were over 100 children in the program.
Well done everyone! Good luck and hope you all had a great time.
Thanks to Vyninka Arlow and Thomas Rickards who coordinated the camp. Special mention to the fantastic coaches that helped out during the week. The coaches were: Michelle Olsson, Jocy Abbott (Happy Birthday Jocy), Chris Marshall, Kevin Chavez (Olympian), Elizabeth Macarounas and Cherie Walker. Also, coming to meet the divers were Olympians Melissa Wu, Esther Qin and Brittany Broben.
Its the first time a ‘testing day’ has been run as a camp with around 40 per day (5 days) which was 100 kids over the 5 days. 19 athletes have now been selected for further testing over the next 3 weeks before the squad is cut down to the maximum squad places available. All participants are encouraged to continue in the sport by participating in club programs.
