2021 NSW Country Championships Wauchope

Diving NSW is pleased to be conducting the 2021 NSW Country Diving Championships in Wauchope.

The competition will be held on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 January 2021 at Wauchope Aquatic Centre.

This year’s event will see 30 - 40 participants of all ages compete, vying for the title of Country Diving Champion. The divers will also get the opportunity to qualify for the Australian Age Championships held later in the year.

A number of novices will join more experienced divers in competing in their age groups on the 1 metre and 3 metre Boards. This year’s event is attracting both competitors and volunteers from all areas of NSW, including Wagga Wagga, Newcastle, North Coast, Canberra, and Sydney.

The Opening Ceremony will be held at 10am on Saturday 23^rd January, and will be officially opened by the Mayor of Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, Cr. Peta Pinson.

Mayor Pinson welcomes all competitors and visitors to the region and is looking forward to the event.

“Diving NSW has been so diligent in putting together a strong COVID safe plan. Their hard work means we are able to host visitors from all over NSW and spend an action-packed weekend celebrating a gripping sport. This is a great opportunity to get involved and spark a new interest, or support the competitors as they showcase their nail-biting skills.”

Diving NSW will also be conducting a Come ‘n’ Try session on Saturday 23 January from 12pm - 1pm, where participants can try the sport — regardless of their skillsets. No bookings are required and all locals and spectators are invited and encouraged to join.

Spectators are most welcome at the Championship event, to support the efforts of the young and up-and-coming champions over a big two days of competition.

The Championships is subject to the latest the NSW Public Health Orders. The proceedings of the event may change according to changes in regulations.
