Coach: Ma Jin – Mexico

When: Saturday 4^th July at Midday via Zoom.

This workshop will be an interesting addition to the Coach Development series. Mexican National Coach Ma Jin main languages are Spanish and Chinese. NSWIS Head Coach, Chava Sobrino will be asking a series of questions and translating from Spanish to English and NSWIS Athlete, Esther Quinn will be asking a series of questions translating from Chinese to English.

Participants will be able to ask questions as well and have the opportunity to learn from Ma Jin who has an interesting perspective and unique career in our sport.

Mexican National Coach Ma Jin has a long history in diving with many successful athletes, distinctions and achievements. She has coached in Mexico for over 15 years and has a holistic approach on athlete education, health and well-being. Ma Jin arrived in Mexico in 2003 as part of the Sports Activities Cooperation Program held between the National Commission of Physical Culture and Sport of Mexico and the Development Centre of Human Resources for the General Administration of Sport of the People’s Republic of China.

Ma Jin coached a number of great athletes including Paola Espinosa at the 2004 & 2008 Olympics & 2009 World Champion. She also coached Rommel Pacheco on Platform at the 2008 Olympics. In 2012, the Mexican Government awarded Coach Ma Jin the Medal of Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle.

Professor Jin created the training models for national talent identification at an early age. During her 15 years in Mexico she has managed to integrate a group of highly competitive athletes and develop, in addition to physical and technical qualities, vocation and human values, vital for good fulfilment in the life project of each athlete.
