Wear it Purple Matthew Mitcham Meet – 20^th August, 2023 

Diving NSW is looking forward to you coming along to our Matthew Mitcham Meet (1st Interclub) where we are celebrating Wear if Purple in conjunction with Pride in Sport.

AIMS

The 2023 Matthew Mitcham meet is an opportunity for Diving NSW to support Wear it Purple and reinforce our standing as a safe and inclusive sport. The event is also a chance to promote Diving NSW policies for inclusion and codes of conduct/zero tolerance.

Wear it Purple is celebrated annually on the last Friday in August. In 2023, the event will be held on Friday 25 August. More information on the whole Wear it Purple event can be found at the following link: Wear it Purple

The organisation exists to promote awareness and share support for the LGBTQ+ community, particularly young Australians. Allies wear purple as a show of solidarity for people with diverse sexualities and genders.

Wear it Purple is a youth-led not for profit organisation, staffed almost exclusively by volunteers. Any fundraising activities, however small, are vital and appreciated.

Diving NSW will be accepting donations on the day to go towards the Wear it Purple organistion. You can also donate as you register for the competition. The default amount is $10, but you can select as many multiples from the dropdown list to donate more than $10. 
Athletes, officials, volunteers and coaches are encourged to wear something purple on the day!

Competition Guidelines:

    Choose one board to compete (1M, 3M, or Platform)
    Synchonised event will not be included

Warm up and competition times for each event are approximate and may change. Some events will be combined age groups.

Diving NSW will be complying with all COVID – 19 safety measures, including following the current public health orders.

There will be no general warm up. Each event will be given approximately 15-20 minutes training prior to the event starting as a warm up as follows:
